2009 WICT RISING STAR AWARD
Founded in 1979, and more than 10,000 members strong, Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) is the largest and oldest professional association serving women in cable media.
The Rising Star Award for Emerging Leaders recognizes a man or woman who shows
potential to be an influential leader within their organization and the cable telecommunications
industry. This award is presented to an individual who has established competency and success
in their area of expertise and is moving into formal or informal leadership roles. This award is
presented to director or manager level.
2018 NYC MARATHON
The New York City Marathon is an annual marathon (42.195 km or 26.219 mi) that courses through the five boroughs of New York City. It is the largest marathon in the world, with 52,812 finishers in 2018 and 98,247 applicants for the 2017 race.
I can honestly say all the clichés and parallels between marathons, careers and life in general are true. It’s not easy, it takes commitment, perseverance and I would say, equal parts grit and passion. Having a plan and being prepared, pacing yourself, and running your own race are (from my experience) the keys to success.
